A correction has been made to the Diagnosed Conditions and Atypical Development Guidance for Wisconsin’s Birth to 3 Program, P-00893. Very low birth weight is now defined as 1,500 g or 3.31 lbs. This correction was made to achieve congruence between weight in grams and pounds.
The Wisconsin Birth to 3 Program maintains a list of diagnosed conditions that deem a child eligible for the program. The conditions in Chart 1 of the document were selected because medical research shows that these conditions have a high probability of resulting in a developmental delay if not treated.
