The WI-MDI project is currently recruiting health system teams who are interested in adding a dental hygienist to a medical care team. The learning collaborative starts October 2019. The WI-MDI project is funded by the Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin Endowment and Delta Dental of Wisconsin Foundation. The purpose of the WI-MDI project is to integrate dental hygienists into primary care settings. Goals of the project are to:
- Increase health care teams that include a dental hygienist
- Increase access to primary preventive oral health services
- Decrease dental disease burden
- Increase patient understanding of integrated oral health model
