Family Voices is inviting staff from your organization to participate in a multidisciplinary Community of Practice (CoP) in Region C to share and discuss best practices around the delivery of telehealth.

 

What is the purpose? The purpose of this CoP is to provide an opportunity for participants to share and discuss:

  • Best practices for serving families via telehealth
  • Strategies for reaching families who are diverse, vulnerable, medically underserved and hard to reach
  • Barriers to family participation in telehealth services (for example, trust, confidentiality, family engagement) and strategies to overcome those barriers
  • Strategies for promoting family-centered telehealth
  • Strategies to promote family engagement in telehealth

Why is it important? The increased use of telehealth is in direct response to the COVID-19 pandemic and is an important way to ensure CYSHCN continue to receive needed care. It’s important to think about ways to reach all families, to discuss the barriers and benefits, and to ensure telehealth policies that are helpful to families are sustained beyond the pandemic.

Who are the participants? In addition to the Family-to-Family Health Information Centers (F2Fs), we would like your help inviting state Parent to Parent alliance members (P2P), the Parent Training and Information Centers (PTIs), Regional Genetics Networks (RGNs), community-based American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) chapters, Title V program staff, Federation of Families for Children’s Mental affiliates, Hands & Voices chapters, and disability specific organizations, such as autism, epilepsy, sickle cell, and mental health organizations.

  • You are encouraged and welcome to invite other partners that might want to contribute to discussions and information sharing.
